When I think of GAMING I think of Casinos. I love Casinos and playing my favorite slot machine. I do no consider myself a gambler. What ever we do for entertainment costs and my payment to that slot machine is in payment for the pleasure I get from playing. I am in control of the amount I can spend for my entertainment.
I not only enjoy playing the slots but I love watching others play. The atmosphere is great. It is interesting how players seem to wave their hands over the reel area of the machine in an afford to induce that machine to pay off under some magic power. My favorite scene is the Senior Citizen playing on a nickle machine, playing a nickle at a time, and seeing the hope in their faces that they might hit the Jack Pot and go home with a little extra cash. The Casinos in my opinion afford much needed pleasure for senior citizens.
When Gambling was voted into Louisiana, it was decided that a Casino would be built on Indian land in Marksville, Louisiana, a small town which at that time appeared to be very depressed. I was told that the Indians there were in need of housing, schools and jobs in the worse way. Today Marksville appears to be
growing with the Casino striving, new businesses, schools and an entirely different look. In addition to the
Casino there are restaurants, a fantastic Hotel, RV Park and other improvements. Buses bring hundreds of members and players to Marksville daily in addition to the regulars to play their lucky machine. It appears that Gaming has been good for this community.
