The ubiquity of mobile gaming as a platform, combined with the plethora of new apps and games being released daily, has brought a whole new wave of gamers who don’t necessarily fit the mold of hardcore, console game devotees.  Do they still count as gamers, then?  Of course they do.  They’re playing games, after all.  Statistics are fairly easy to come by for console game players, including their demographics and preferences, but those of mobile gamers tend to be more elusive at this volatile turning point in the mobile platform, taking phones and tablets into consideration as well as hand-held game systems like PSP and Nintendo DS.
