In checking for Casinos in different states I found several located in Tunica, Mississippi. In driving there you see miles and miles of cotton and corn fields before reaching Tunica. The Casinos are located several miles from the town site and are located on and near the Mississippi River. This area also depends on the Casinos for jobs and is a source of revenue for the State of Mississippi. Recently the Mississippi River began to flood and
the Casinos and many other structures are flooded with water. It is my understanding that the Casinos are built on barges and can be protected but the other improvements and landscaped areas have no protection from the flooding. Hopefully this area can survive and be re-built and repaired to be as beautiful and as much fun to visit as it was in the past.
In the near future I will be planning for that fun trip to my favorite Casinos. There are several that are really special and have the machines that I love to play. I hope that one day soon it is will be possible to play in our state and closer to home. Gasoline prices are a real problem when you are forced to drive so far to enjoy your favorite entertainment.
